What is plant-based milk made from?

Plant-based milk is made by grinding beans, nuts, or grains and adding water, flavours, vitamins and minerals. The quantity of sugar and nutrients in plant-based milk vary significantly based on how it was made and what has been added. Cow’s milk contains protein, calcium, riboflavin and potassium. Due to some health and ethical reasons, people prefer plant-based milk.

Almond, cashew, and other nut-based milk are rich in heart-healthy unsaturated fats, just like soy, hemp, and flax milk. Soy milk presents the same high amount of protein as cow’s milk. Oats milk is the most preferred being low-fat milk. Regular consumption of oats milk can improve gastrointestinal problems.

Most producers fortify their alt dairy milk to sell them as an apt alternative to cow’s milk. The mineral most often added is calcium, in the form of tricalcium phosphate. So, no need to worry about the nutritional value at all.

Hence you can make a choice considering the nutritional value and health benefits.
